These are the top ten searches that brought people to my site during the last couple weeks:
1. 9.82% oompa loompa
2. 5.40% thundercats
3. 3.75% unicorns
4. 3.75% whale penis
5. 3.57% jfk
6. 3.42% babies
7. 1.87% emo hair
8. 1.77% watermelon
9. 1.47% senior pictures
10. 1.30% cheeseburger
Funniest: Mr. Miyagi Wax Off
I feel kind of bad about the Unicorns link, because people typing in "Whale Penis" know what they're getting, but I imagine the Unicorn searches are coming from some little girl playing princess who just wants to color a picture of herself on the back of a unicorn or something, and instead she gets this. Oh well. Whatever, I can't be watchin' your kids fer chrissakes.
I suppose I should do something to balance out all the "Whale Penis" hits I get. I don't know what the antidote to "Whale Penis" is, though. Maybe this?
I'm not even sure what kind of creature that is. A muskrat? A lemur? I should probably try to label it properly or my search stats are going to get even more messed up.

Really Dan, I'm shocked you aren't foaming at the mouth over the new Decemberists cd which was just released! I know you've already heard it pre-release but being such a huge fan of theirs I expected a review at least instead of this top ten searches(which is funny but where are your priorities, lol?)
I'm listening to it right now in fact & I must say it's far better than any of their previous cds. Much more cohesive & catchy. But really, I'm not really sure why you love them so cause they remind me too much of Death Cab For Cutie, who I hate or The Arcade Fire who suck a really big one, hehe!
By the way, the new Scissor Sisters cd "Ta-Dah" is really great, I highly recommend it if you haven't heard it yet! It's very danceable & fun even though the lyrics are pretty dark. Check it out. Oh & the Jesus Dog Ahole is just too hysterical for words!

Confirmation on the meerkat.

I like that unicorn pic.

Dan, though I love your posts, I am also shocked at a bit of missing content. No comments on the new season the Gilmore Girls? I understand watching TV can be difficult when half-dehydrated mice are darting across the floor. But, I just started watching the show and need to hear recaps and comments one of the program's biggest fans!

It is a meerkat.
Dan, have you ever thought to ask all who enter Planetdan how they have come upon your site in the first place? I was originally sent a link to the "Falling Georgie". When I saw that it was part of Planetdan, I read through all of your site that day. Needless to say I have been an avid visitor ever since. Thanks.

i came in through the falling george too!

It's frightening, but I can explain the "whale penis" search. I used to get that all the time for my blog - and I wondered why the hell people were ending up on my site with that.
As it turns out, my blog title during that time used the word "dork" in a funny ha-ha "I'm a dork way."
To be all scientific, "dork" is the real term for whale penis. I'm completely serious.
And that's the story of why I changed the title of my blog. We learn something new everyday.

Where did those senior pictures go? That was the funniest thing ever (that and of course every other thing you post.)
Could you please, please, pleeeeeeease bring back the senior pictures?
By , at 1:10 PM
I also got hooked by the falling George.
By , at 1:14 PM
Ohhhh, the good old senior pictures!! That's how I found this beautiful blog...
By , at 2:07 PM
I found your site by doing a search for Oompa Loompa and I got hooked by reading your 'nosey neighbors' post. Now I visit everyday. I feel so unoriginal knowing that's how the majority of people end up on your site...

Ok, I stand corrected. I see that you reviewed FOUR cds including the new Scissor Sisters. For some reason I only scrolled down to read the first two & thought that was it. Sorry! I'm still surprised one of those reviews wasn't the Decemberists, lol!!!

yup - (a) meerkat (haven't you seen Meerkat Manor on Animal Planet - duh) and (b) Falling George
By , at 5:01 PM
I found you through Mulgrew.
And from planetdan I have stumbled upon Showyoumine.
All three are extremely well written.

I came here via the senior photos too...bring them back for a while! I haven't missed a day since.

Dan, since we're all confessing, I found your site through Scooter. His annotation on the blogroll reads, "Planet Dan - Because who doesn't love the Gilmore Girls." I thought that was such a funny way to burn someone but then found out that it wasn't really an insult and that you made me laugh very hard.
Why do you have that unicorns picture? I bought that t-shirt for a Christmas present off of Threadless but with different colors. Did you design it!?!
By PrincessMax, at 9:51 PM
I found you through stacy's random thoughts and opinions
she is HYSTERICAL and really hot...
way hotter than k-mack
oh, and I agree about the decemberists comment...you must not like them anymore....too bad.

I found you through the senior photos, which an office mate sent me a link to. Hooked since. I feel like such a dork (meaning geek-type person, not whale penis) when I tell people in real life stories from my "friend" Dan's life.
By , at 12:39 PM
I think the majority of visitors probably came from the Senior Pictures site I created, the Falling Georgie doll (which I didn't create), my oompa loompa costume, or because they were curious about a whale's penis. And I appreciate every single one of them.

I, too, came for the senior pictures, but never was able to find them. Please bring them back. Once here, I've been revisiting for things like the falling george, the tower of wiener, and the meerkat penis. Thanks for never disappointing (except for the petrified hotdog on the antenna.)

I came for the free food, but stayed for the sparkling conversation.

Am I the only one that came for the Olsen Twizins? What a sordid affair that was...
By callmekidd, at 9:16 AM
falling george here also. too bad you didnīt program that one dan, what with your photoshop talents and all...
By Richard, at 2:55 PM
so of course I had to go back and look at some of those old posts. Whoa! That Olsen Twinsiz thing generated some serious bad feelings. What was up with that?
You have posted some seriously funny stuff, though. Makes me want to go back to the beginning and read all 1,000 posts...if I only had the time...

Long time reader, first time poster. When you put that link in to what I just KNEW would be an inappropriate unicorn-related image, I had this trembling feeling in my knees and bile rose in my throat, because I thought you were going to link to this: http://www.worlddreambank.org/U/UNICORGY.HTM
which may well be the most disturbing thing I've ever seen in my life. Ever seen something so awful you just had to share? Blimey. Looking it up now to send it to you, it's like seeing it for the first time. Sorry/you're welcome.
