Dumb Fan

It took me the better part of a really preplexing 20-minute car ride today to realize that this personalized license plate was not owned by a self-proclaimed Dumb Fan but rather a Dave Matthews Band Fan most likely. Not that the distinction is important really. Potayto/potahto.

...and yet they are one in the same

...or he might just be a Dan Miller Blog FAN!

Is that the most important thing in that person's life? Why do they want me to know this? Do they think I care? Vanity plates are sympotomatic of a society where passive communication with other humans is the norm and the very normal need to express one's self must be done in a way that ensures anonymity, prevents dialogue and eliminates potential ridicule or, god forbid, a differing opinion. And worst of all, you cannot avoid seeing these things and its nearly impossible to try not to figure them out! Arrgh!

*random afterthought*

Anyone ever watch Reno 911? They have scenes where they are chasing someone and trying to read their vanity plates and usually end up smashing into them... And they're always awful plates too...

so what would your vanity plate be, Mr. Miller?

Do you keep your camera hanging around your neck, ready to take pictures on moments notice? And when is the big trip to Vegas, can't wait to see photos of K-Mack with the floppy rubber penis!

I had a friend in college who was a great artist and loved creating cartoons. His goal was to be a cartoonist for Disney. He customized his license plate accordingly to read "BUT & BST", meaning Beauty and Beast. But of course, everyone thought it meant "Butt and Bust". He got more attention that way...

I say it's a Dan Miller Blog Fan too.
