Why do people do this? Or more to the point: how, during the course of the years that it takes to grow such a monstrosity, does one NOT look in a mirror, gag, and run for the trimming shears?

If that poor man had folks who truly loved him, they'd snip that thing off while he slept.
I can't understand why the person who cuts the rest of his hairs hasn't "accidentally" cut that thing off. If I were a barber, I think it'd be worth giving him a free hair cut. Otherwise, I'd be embarrassed for him to walk out of my shop.
