[FP]
Too bad it didn't help nuthin.
According to the internets, it's just some Bush-lover's private jet that had to ditch into the water when power failed on take off. Nobody was hurt, but poetic justice was served.

Ha ha! Well, I guess one pilot shouldn't laugh at another's minsfortune....then again I wouldn't paint up my old hunk-o-junk plane with that on the side. Bad Karma...as evidenced by this poor Convair 340.
BTW, Dan, it is not a jet...it is a Convair 340, propeller-driven, powered by two piston engines. The operator - Miami Air Lease - run by a Cuban national who has been a "lifelong republican" has had two other accidents with old airplanes. One in 1979 on a Curtis C-46 where they lost the engines and "ditched" the plane (purposely flew it into a body of water), and one in 1980 on a DC-6 where they had "controlled flight into terrain" or CFIT. Basically that is the opposite of ditching. They flew into the water, but by accident. Same thing that happened to JFK.Jr. The 1980 accident for Miami Air Lease killed 4.
Divine intervention? They seem to have a history of it. Every Aircraft loss they had, including the "W" plane, they wrote off...just like a republican!

Speaker of the House or Senate Majority Leader.
All of a sudden another Newt or Trent Lott will come along.

I remember when that was on the news... the plane was rescued with inflatable dykes.
sheesh... they're good enough to rescue planes but not get married or adopt.
