Subversive Pulltabs

The local 3-2 dive bar has pulltabs that seem to push the boundaries of good taste. What on earth is that in the upper right hand corner?

WRONG! It's a foot with a sore toe, pervert. Geesh.

Man, even close-up that still don't look right.

Be careful. The maker of the pulltab might threaten to sue you for copyright infringement!

Of course if they are stupid enough to put a graphic that though it is supposed to look like a sore toe but clearly appears to be a penis, Then they should be sued for poor taste.

You can't tell me the graphic designer responible for that image didn't know what he/she was doing. Awesome.

Hmmm, I expected questions about what a 3.2 bar is, but not "What's a pulltab?" A pulltab is like a acratch-off lottery ticket, only instead of scratching off that crusty gray matter, you just pull on the paper tabs to reveal the pictures underneath. If three of the pictures match, you win money. They are very popular in dive bars and rural podunk towns.

Since the pull-tab is football related, I think what's being represented is turf toe, a common, yet unfortunately named football injury.

I don't know what turf toe is, but it could be an injury that morphs your toe-al region into a throbbing member. It's related to artificial turf, so anything's possible.

Hey Dan! Love your blog..I'm totally addicted, I found it by accident while I was "working" Hehe and now I read every day :) This is a classic...I think you're wrong about one thing though....The artist knew EXACTLY what he was doing, just like the artists when they drew the castles in The Little Mermaid!!!! :)

gosh, when I first looked at the picture it made my hoo-haa get all tingly. I'm deeply disappointed that it's only a poorly drawn sore toe.
