Worst. Actresses. Ever.

There was an interesting, if somewhat bitchy, article on MSNBC last week about whether or not you should hate Gwenyth Paltrow. After seeing Sky Captain this weekend, I can tell you that I am leaning toward the hate side of the debate, but only in that strange all-I-need-to-know-about-someone-to-really-understand-them-I-learned-in-the-tabloids type of way. But they sure do make her seem pretty vapid and annoying.

So this might be a good time to add to the negativity and reveal my top three least favorite actresses. I'm not going to go with the usual Jennifer Lopez or Halle Berry, though:

Charlize Theron
Yeah, she was unidentifiable in Monster, but have you ever tried to watch her in ANYTHING else? Yuk.

Ashley Judd
She's been okay in a few things, I guess, but try to distinguish between any of these movies: Twisted, High Crimes, Double Jeopardy, Eye of the Beholder, Kiss the Girls...

Melanie Griffith
I don't think I need to explain myself on this one.

Runners up: Kirstin Dunst, Whoopie Goldberg, Courtney Love.

Dude, you don't watch their movies for the stellar screen prefomance....you watch to see their assests....you know what I mean. I'm sure there are a zillion more qualified actors out there that would have blow any of your nominee away. however, do those more qualified look as goo as the Charlize, Ashley, or Kirsten? My guess, although hard to admit, is no. I think you might agree if you would consider the motives of the casting agents.

I like Charlize Theron & don't mind Ashley Judd. But I cannot tolerate Winona Ryder or Gwenyth Paltrow- even thought her mother Blythe Danner is one of the most talented actors I've seen. Oh & I really have a difficult time sitting through even a 30 second blurb about Brittany Murphy. How can such a no-talent even get an audition, let alone be allowed to attempt to caryy a feature. She's horrible.

Well then, if bad actresses gt roles based on looks, could someone please explain Melanie Griffith. Woof. How does she get roles??

Good point, Xtina! Game set and match. Or however that goes.

I am really very critical of actresses. I have a huge list that I am not particularly fond of,all of which made your list. Here are some that I especially don't like
Tea Leoni-I think she comes off cold and really unlikeable.
Minnie Driver-yuk
Andie Macdowell- I hate her
I have reconciled my feelings and opinions on Diane Keaton she is really original, and I liked how she portrayed her charactor in somethings got to give. She used to be my #1 worst so I guess we have both changed and grown a little.
There are so many more,I suppose she has not done much but I don't like Nia Vardalos she seems to everyday see her at Walmart.Kelly Preston is not a favorite....sigh...why can't they all be like Meryl,I love Meryl. As for Gwenyth Paltrow,I am completely indifferent,Which in light of my usual harsh critism is almost praise.

As mentioned on my Blog. There are a large number of actresses out there who are homely but probably very gifted actors but will never get a part because they don't have a great set of ta-ta's or a nice ass.

Dan, You forgot Jennifer Lopez. I know she was in Out of Sight but then there was every other movie she made and will never, EVER be considered for an oscar. Her truly best performance was acting like she loved Ben Affleck. Great publicity stunt.

As for Charlize. You have to have some acting skill to win an Oscar. But wait. That doesn't explain Gwynneth Paltrow.

Jennifer Lopez just goes without saying. But I am mad that I forgot about Andie McDowell. And pan-faced Gena Davis. And Kim Bassinger.

By Blogger dan, at 2:57 PM

I forgot about Andie McDowell- "It's raining? I hadn't noticed." She ruined Four Weddings and a Funeral with that simple line.

By Blogger hot babe, at 9:37 PM

Geena Davis, how did I forget her.
I don't like Robin Wright Penn either

Am I the only one who has an intense dislike for Drew Barrymore? Or is she so bad that she now falls into the category of "things we enjoy hating...so now we kinda like them." like Castro and Carebears?

Didn't forget about Drew. She falls into the same obvious catagory as J-Lo.

Ugh, Katherine Zeta Jones

Melanie Griffith - what about that voice? Makes me run screaming...

holy crap. The italian job really sucked. I can't stand Marky Mark either. When I rule the world the first thing I'll do is get rid of feminine hygiene commercials and Keanu Reeves. I guess I'm not sticking to the subject...

By Blogger amy leigh, at 3:20 PM

Ooooo! Marky Mark! That's a good one. He's a tool. I'm mad I didn't think of it.

By Blogger dan, at 11:19 PM

How about:

Brittney Murphy
and
Kirsten Dunst?

Good call on Melanie Griffith. I'm always asking WHY she is famous? Such bad acting!
