Evidence of Geekery, Vol. I

So this story was yesterday's big news:
Space signal studied for possible alien contact

So today, of course, I have to watch Contact while I work.

And then I get the bad news:
Mystery Radio Signal 'Not Aliens'

Dammit. I am crestfallen. But I'm still crossing my fingers for the possiblity of a conspiracy or a cover-up. By the way, Contact, both the movie and the book, are hugely underappreciated.

Aint this a bummer?

I was hoping Jedi master Yoda was sending a message about 9/21/04. Yeehaaaaa. Star Wars is here on DVD.

You gotta be kidding. Contact has to be one the all time biggest steamy turd pile of a movie. You must be delusional or a huge sci fi nerd.

I may be delusional and a sci-fi nerd (on occasion), but Contact is a good movie, regardless. Even in spite of Matthew McConaughey.

Contact is a very good movie in spite of Jodi Foster. Matthew McConaughey is totally dreamy.

Did anyone ever find out what the UFO was that hovered over the metro a couple weeks ago? Nobody took claim to it.

Sci Fi movies ROCK by the way! So other anonymous poster ...thbbbbbbbbbbbbbb on you. And do you really have to curse to express yourself? Again double thbbbbbbbbb on you.

FYI, Contact is one of the best books I've ever read. As for the movie, I think it totally sucks in comparison, but I guess it's ok if you didn't read the book.

There's nothing wrong with scifi. Those who knock it lack imagination.

Contact is one of my favorite books, too. But I still like the movie, if only for the fact that I want to be Jody Foster in that movie.
