Songs and stuffs.

I put new songs in my jukebox. Mostly for my own selfish benefit. I needed new tunes for the weekend. I will miss The Owls, but it was time for something new.

And yeah, I put a Marilyn Manson song in there. I don't care what anybody says, his alien glam rock Mechanical Animals phase was awesome. On the other hand, his urine drinking Antichrist Superstar stuff is way less interesting to me. And you might think that the new Radiohead song sounds just like another funeral dirge, but the ending kills me every time. So pretty.

Also, I really recommend the new Metric and Ladytron CDs. Thems good bands. And although I put a Super Furry Animals and an OK Go song on there, I don't really recommend the full CDs. They are both kind of meh.

If you miss The Owls, try loading "The Owls Go" by Architecture in Helsinki.
It's more fun than a shopping spree at Archie McPhee's.

Dan, check out the new CD by the group Stream of Passion called "Embrace the Storm". It is not the heavy metal scene that the genre brings to mind, but you may like a few songs. Should be able to be found at Target or BestBuy, but Amazon also carries it...

You should check out Jill Sobule's "Underdog Victorious" album. I don't like all of her older stuff, but this album is a pop gem.

Finally, I'm at home and remember to look at your jukebox! I've been wanting to hear something from that Michael Penn cd since I read your album review. Thanks Dan! And I love King of Carrot Flowers and Hope There's Someone, those songs haven't left my mp3 player since I put them on.
