I've been entering all my dollar bills at Wheresgeorge.com lately, which is a dollar bill tracking site, and one of them recently showed up in Saint Peters, Missouri. Another one popped up in Isanti by way of Lakeville, which isn't so long a trip but it's fascinating nonetheless.
All you do is enter the serial number of the bill and where you got it and perhaps a little note to go with it. For example, I noted the following:
I got this bill for change at a bar in downtown Minneapolis last night on new year's eve. It's now being used to buy hangover pizza on new year's day.
So I've been defacing dollar bills left and right by writing "Please track me at Wheresgeorge.com" on all of them. I'm really proud of my Missouri dollar. Who knows where it will show up next. I wonder if I will ever see it again. I miss you, B4768-8B. Till we meet again.

Wow, my husband and I got into a very philosophical conversation one night about all the people a single dollar bill could have been passed too. Now we can find out. I have been reading your blog. It's fantastic. Thanks, I need the laughs. Keep 'em coming. Didn't I get drunk with you in college?

Dude, I used to enter a ton of bills in WheresGeorge. I even had a stamp made for it. I'd stamp a ton and forget about it for 6 months and I'd have a hit in Maine or something.
Very interesting stuff... I think I might have to break out my stamp again.

Just marked a bunch and tossed a $5 at the cafe guy downstairs. Oh, the places you'll go little fiver.

I want a stamp! Where'd you get the stamp?

I entered a bill ages ago that had a stamp on it. For a brief moment I thought it was your stamp Dave. But alas, I'm still tied for 1st place with all those other people who haven't gotten a hit. snif.

I believe I had my stamp made at Office Depot. Apparently a lot of office supply stores do that stuff. There are places online too... http://stampman.net/ etc.
I had one of those atomic symbols put on there for extra confusion.

I've been Georging for about a year and have had my bills go some interesting places. Not only do I enter the bills at Wheresgeorge but I enter them at www.wherehaveibeen.com. It is a similar site that I think is more personal.
One hint mark your bills front and back.
You can get stamps at www.stamp-connection.com.
