Top this: I voted on Oct. 8! I was at Rochester City Hall for something and decided vote absentee right then & there in case I died before Nov. 2. Always the optimist...

I just got back from voting. I won't be watching the returns though. Its like watching Days of Our Lives- just move the storyline along already & get to the point.

No more annoying commercials- yeah!

Well, I went door-knocking today for the AFL-CIO. I and another ALPA (Air Line Pilots Assn) Officer went to 70 homes in White Bear Lake. Lots of folks weren't home. I had two firefighters tell me they voted (or would vote) for Bush because of 9/11 and Iraq...completely ignorant of the facts proving there is no link between 9/11 and Iraq. I had an older copule (I'd say in their 80's) that got pissed off, the wife saying, "Ah, young man, I believe we have a secret ballot process in the USA!" Others that previous union workers had talked to last week "flip-flopped", or outright refused to discuss the vote. All we were trying to do is make sure that people voted. These were all registered AFL-CIO union households. All in all, I would say that Kerry had a slim lead.

Proud to be from New York where the sensible people voted for Kerry.
